Skins ? What's that ?

Units in Blitzkrieg have "skins". These can be modified by editing a direct draw surfce file (.dds). Changing the skin only affects the visiual appearance of the unit.
Below you can find some screenshots of skins I've made earlier and some new ones.
Most of these skins (and many others) can probably soon be downloaded from

2009 ("2nd Edition")

I am working on some new skins, a few of them can be seen here. The plan for these "second edition" skins is to make 6 new complete set of skins. 4 summer/spring sets and two winter sets. I have no release datefor them yet. Hopefully it won't take too long.

USSR Early (1939-1944), winter and summer.
USSR Late (1944-1945), winter and summer.
This will be a set with some experimental camouflage and other rare things.
Germany 1939-1942, a complete rework of my earlier "German grey" skins.
As some people pointed out, they were too "blue".
Germany 1943-1945, this will be mostly minor changes and improvements of the Feb-43 3.0 set.

These skins are not complete and the images shown here might not present the final result.
The images are medium quality JPEG's (to limit their size) and might not reflect the skins 100% correctly.
